What is the Raffles Science Institute?
The Raffles Science Institute (RSI) was set up in 2009 by the Raffles Institution (Junior College) to facilitate, equip and provide opportunities in Science for the students with an interest in scientific research. The RSI seeks to provide these opportunities through
- overseeing research projects either within the school or in collaboration with other research institutes;
- facilitating student-run initiatives like journal club meetings; and
- conducting workshops and seminars related scientific research to expose students to a wider variety of science-related topics as well as to equip students with skills and knowledge for different fields of research.
- oversee and manage operations in the OpenLab
The RSI also supports the teachers in the Biology Unit by offering workshops and lectures related to the H2 Biology syllabus and conducting fieldtrips for the enrichment of the student and staff population of RI(JC).
