Walks of Life

— Under Construction —

The RSI conducts and facilitates fieldtrips for students with a special interest in various fields.

Marine Ecology

In January 2009, a group of 20 students and 6 teachers spent 3 days at the Tropical Marine Science Institute at St. John’s Island learning about marine and coastal biodiversity as well as the threats that climate change poses to our ecosystem. It was a trip where learning was combined with fun and both teachers and students enjoyed themselves tremendously. Here are some photos and a blog post from this trip.

Birdwatching

On a bright and sunny morning in April, RSI took a group of about 8 students to MacRitchie for a birdwatching elective. Although the weather wasn’t very conducive to spotting birds, we still had an enjoyable time learning about bird ecology while exploring nature at our doorstep. You can read the blog post about this here.
